Organizational Structure

EDC is governed by a Board of Trustees, which is the policymaking board of the organization. The Board elects the President, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer. In turn, the President leads the internal Executive Committee, made up of Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents, who direct major centers of programmatic and business services activities, and who report directly to him.

President's Office

Luther Luedtke, EDC's President and CEO, came to EDC from California Lutheran University (CLU), where he served as president from 1992-2006. Under his stewardship, CLU saw major growth in enrollment, faculty, campus facilities, and financial resources and the establishment of several new undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to his presidency at CLU, Luedtke served for two decades in a variety of professorial and administrative positions at the University of Southern California. He has been a Fulbright Professor in Germany, director of the American Studies Research Centre in India, and Resident Scholar with the U.S. Information Agency in Washington, D.C., as well as a consultant to the U.S. Department of Education, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars and other governmental bodies.

EDC Divisions and Centers

Project staff work within entrepreneurial centers that are organized to address specific challenges, to build strong working relationships, and to foster productive collaborations with key partners. This center-based structure provides EDC with the flexibility to respond quickly to new opportunities and to meet a variety of complex challenges. Read more about our divisions and centers.

In addition to our programmatic centers, EDC has a full range of in-house support services, including communications, publishing, editing and design, human resources, diversity initiatives, legal, accounting, financial and business planning, on-site building management, conference, and travel. Our information technology (IT) department leverages the most current IT opportunities to serve both EDC and individual projects. We provide Web site design services, host more than 75 project Web sites, and support EDC staff with a full-time help desk. EDC's Publishing Department distributes more than 300 EDC publications and products to targeted educational, health, and community markets.
