Anne Hemmer is a registered dietitian and EDC training and technical assistance associate. She brings extensive experience as a Head Start health manager, home-based and family childcare options manager, and nutrition manager for child-care programs.
Hemmer advances the goals of the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety. Before joining EDC, she was a nutrition consultant for Early Head Start programs and worked on the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s MA Children at Play program and the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care’s Quality Rating and Improvement System initiative.
Previously, Hemmer served as the system specialist for the New England Training and Technical Assistance Network in Region I. She worked with Head Start State Collaboration Office directors and other partners on state-level systems initiatives. These included trainings and roundtable learning experiences to build grantees’ capacity in topics such as substance misuse and the I Am Moving, I Am Learning curriculum.
Hemmer holds a BS in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State College and an MS in Family Support/Parent Education from Wheelock College.
