Deborah Kimathi is the Learning Generation Initiative’s (LGI’s) Education Workforce Initiative and Systems Delivery lead. She oversees programs, research, country work, strategic communications, and partnerships for growth and impact.

As a senior development professional for over 22 years, Kimathi’s career has included founding, catalyzing, and driving growth through strategic partnerships in impactful development organizations at local, national, and regional levels in East Africa. Her expertise lies in education workforce, school leadership, teacher professional development, instructional coaching, and behavior change for education systems transformation. She previously held CEO and senior leadership roles at Dignitas, RELI Africa, and Raising Futures Kenya.

Kimathi has a BD (Hons) from the University of Glasgow and an MA in Education and International Development from the Institute of Education, UCL.
