Melissa Avelino is the finance director for EDC’s U.S. Division. A highly experienced financial leader and analyst, she brings a strong background in public and private finance and extensive expertise in fiscal management and oversight, business development, and strategic planning.
Avelino is a key member of the division’s leadership team. She ensures sound fiscal financial planning and processes, contributes to business development strategy, ensures fiscally viable and compliant approaches, and leverages efficient use of resources. With the U.S. Division’s senior finance director, she oversees a team of financial managers.
For six years, Avelino served as the financial manager for EDC’s Center for Children & Technology. Before joining EDC, she was a senior financial analyst in the State of Texas Office of the Governor, in which capacity she managed several loan funds and served as a subject matter expert on various state and federal incentives and lending programs.
Avelino is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an MBA, with a concentration in Finance, from St. Edwards University (Texas) and a BS in Finance from Boston College.
