Helene Gourichon

Hélène Gourichon is a public finance expert and food systems policy specialist with over 13 years of international experience across Africa, Asia, and Europe. She leads country engagement for the Sustainable Finance Initiative for School Health and Nutrition (SFI), supporting governments in developing sustainable financing strategies and strengthening home-grown school feeding programs.

Her experience includes five years as Head of Food Policy for a local authority in Scotland, where she led pioneering work on sustainable food procurement and local food systems, and five years with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), supporting African governments in the analysis and formulation of food and agriculture policies, with a particular focus on public finance and value chains.

Hélène holds an MSc in Urban Economic Development, specializing in Food and the City, from University College London, and an MA in Political Science from Sciences Po Bordeaux, France.
