EDC helps crisis-affected youth, communities, and institutions rebuild and thrive through focused programming, technical assistance, and networking support.

Over 75 million children and youth worldwide are affected by conflict, crises, and their enduring effects. These young people face severe challenges, including limited access to quality education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods. Supporting youth is crucial for their futures and essential in building global peace and security.

Supporting education, peacebuilding, mental health, and resilience, EDC equips children and youth with the tools to navigate and overcome the shocks and stresses of conflict and instability. Our programs directly address the urgent needs of those affected by violence and crisis, strengthening communities to restore stability and security to foster a safer, more prosperous future for the next generation.

Playful Learning Across the Years 2.0

This project will contextualize, test, and use externally developed classroom observation and interview tools to measure the quality of play-based learning in crisis-affected contexts in Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, and Uganda.

Playful Learning Across the Years 2.0

USAID Doniya Taabolo

This project aims to improve foundational skills for Grade 1 to 4 students from 1,000 schools in Bamanankan-speaking regions of Mali by improving reading and math teaching quality, increasing community engagement, and reinforcing service delivery systems.

USAID De Lectores a Líderes (USAID Honduras Reading Activity)

This work seeks to improve reading instruction for Honduran students in grades 1–6, and will address teaching practices and important social topics, such as gender equality, social inclusion, citizenship, and positive relationships.

Mali Education Recovery Support Activity (ERSA)

This project increases educational access for over 10,000 out-of-school children and youth in Mali with accelerated learning programs while also promoting peace building and resilience through culturally appropriate lessons and activities.
