LaShawn Martin
LaShawn Martin, EDC project director, brings advanced managerial, administrative, and operational expertise to her work supporting the efforts of project and business development teams across EDC. LaShawn is an expert in fiscal policies and procedures, all aspects of daily operations, event management, and the design and oversight of effective administrative procedures. She specializes in building strong professional relationships with stakeholders and vendors that ensure optimal project operations.
LaShawn contributes her over 20 years of successful and varied business operations experience to EDC teams. She has applied her managerial, customer service, and communications strengths in multiple organizational environments including nonprofit, university institutional review boards, state government, and corporate healthcare.
Currently, LaShawn provides full-service project management and fiscal management expertise to multiple EDC initiatives focused on improving education, health, and workforce development. She collaborates closely with the leaders of project teams, business development teams, and core EDC areas (e.g., Office of Sponsored Programs, Finance, Technology and AI). She serves as a mentor and supervisor to junior logistics staff, administrative staff, and project coordinators.
LaShawn holds an MS in Management with a concentration in Human Resources and an MEd in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. She also has a Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro) Certification from the APM Group.
