Kate Coleman is an EDC project director with over 20 years of expertise in mathematics education. She specializes in developing innovative curricula, assessments, and professional learning resources that promote engaging and rigorous mathematical and computer science experiences for all students.

A highly skilled instructional designer and researcher, Coleman has extensive experience in school improvement, instructional planning, and curriculum integration and implementation—all grounded in her background as a classroom teacher and instructional coach. At EDC, she contributes to several mathematics and computer science initiatives, including STEM Workforce Ready 2030 and Math for All, where she also serves as a coach.

Coleman co-developed REL Northeast & Islands’ Mathematics Intervention Toolkit and co-led the Connecticut Partnership to Support Multilingual Learner Outcomes. For EDC’s Think Math+C and Math+C projects, she co-developed curriculum modules that integrate mathematics and computer science concepts for grades 2–5 students. She is a board member of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Massachusetts.

Coleman holds an EdM in Learning and Teaching from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Boston College.
