Nancy Topping-Tailby
Nancy Topping-Tailby, a licensed social worker and mental health clinician, specializes in using effective strategies to promote children’s healthy development and family well-being. She has over 40 years of experience in child health, behavioral health, injury prevention, family engagement, community health promotion, and continuous quality improvement in clinical and early childhood settings.
Nancy is co-principal investigator and co-project director of the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety. She leads a team of experts dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families so they can be as healthy as possible. Topping-Tailby previously directed EDC’s work in the National Center on Health and the National Center on Early Childhood Health and Wellness. She also served as a faculty member specializing in maternal depression for EDC’s Home Visiting Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network.
Before joining EDC, Nancy was executive director of the Massachusetts Head Start Association, a Head Start program director, and a child and family therapist. She is a founding member of the Massachusetts Association for Infant Mental Health.
Nancy holds an MSW from Smith College.
