Michele Shortley, senior graphic design associate in EDC’s Digital Design Group, is an expert in digital and print collateral, data visualizations, social media, and exhibit design. She specializes in illustrations and branding.

Across EDC, Shortley’s visual storytelling expertise helps teams advance EDC’s strategic vision. Her designs have also supported EDC’s work on maternal health, and suicide/substance misuse prevention. Previously, she ran a graphic design business, illustrating 20 books for SAE International, A World in Motion, and Somali children.

As an international communications lead, Shortley led teams in Rwanda for UNDP and in Ethiopia for UNOCHA. She developed the first in-house emergency report for UNWFP in Rome, helping secure $500 million in aid. She began her career as an art director working with NFL teams, hospitals, and banks.

Shortley holds a BFA from Alfred University and will complete her MPS in Business of Art and Design from MICA in 2025.
