Kristin Lees Haggerty is a national expert in strengthening health care systems to meet the needs of older adults. An experienced health systems researcher and EDC program leader, she designs, tests, and disseminates innovations that advance age-friendly health care.
Lees Haggerty co-leads the National Collaboratory to Address Elder Mistreatment, a leader in elder mistreatment policy reform and creator of the Elder Mistreatment Emergency Department Toolkit that aids EDs in identifying and addressing elder mistreatment. She also co-leads the National Dementia Care Collaboratory, which is building capacity to adopt evidence-based comprehensive dementia care nationwide. Her research on elder mistreatment and dementia care is published in high-impact journals.
Lees Haggerty presents her work at refereed conferences, such as the Gerontological Society of America Annual Meeting. She is an assistant professor of Gerontology in Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine (courtesy appointment) and was awarded an NIH K-01 Career Development grant to investigate elder mistreatment among older adults with cognitive symptoms.
Lees-Haggerty holds a PhD in Population Health from Northeastern University and an MA in Applied Psychology from New York University.
