Jill Marcus is an EDC training and technical assistance associate and expert facilitator of K–12 educational improvement. She brings experience in teacher professional development, continuous improvement, performance assessment, qualitative data collection and analysis, and research communications.

Jill advances the goals of the REL Northeast & Islands at EDC. As part of her work, she co-developed the online course for educators Creating and Using Performance Assessments and co-authored a report on proficiency-based education. She also co-authored the blog post “Card Activity Helps Educators Sort Out Types of Assessment.” She frequently shares her findings and expertise at conferences and virtual learning events.

Recently, Jill contributed to continuous improvement projects in Maine and staffed two communities of practice to support educators in Appalachia. She also provided strategic support for EDC’s evaluation of the Massachusetts Acceleration Academies and EDC’s Programming the Acceleration of Computing Education project.

Earlier in her career, Jill was a public school teacher, school administrator, and professional development provider. As a Brandeis University researcher, she managed data collection for a five-year longitudinal study.

Jill holds an EdM in Elementary Education from Boston University Graduate School of Education and a BA in American Studies from Boston University College of Liberal Arts.
