Teresa Gomez Barroso is a health educator, trainer, and program manager with over a decade of experience leading international health promotion and prevention initiatives. She brings extensive expertise in advancing impactful efforts that significantly improve health and well-being through education, prevention, and systems change. She is passionate about building healthier, more connected communities.

Teresa is a Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Provider with the Suicide Prevention Resource Center, where she supports State & Territories Initiatives in strengthening suicide prevention efforts. She also serves as a TTA provider with the Northeast & Caribbean Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) and the Mountain Plains PTTC, where she builds capacity focused on the intersection of substance use prevention and suicide prevention. Previously, she advanced the goals of the Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center, supporting East Coast regions, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Teresa is fluent in both English and Spanish. Before joining EDC, she managed global health initiatives for public and private organizations across Europe and collaborated on health training and prevention projects throughout South America.

Teresa holds an MS in Health and Safety from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and an MA in Women’s Health, Psychology, & Healthcare from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is currently pursuing an MPH at Boston University.
