Theresa Murray

Theresa Murray is a highly skilled communications leader with over 15 years of experience in multi-channel marketing, media relations, management, and fundraising. She also brings extensive expertise in publication development and content creation.

As the Deputy Director of Communications and Partnership Operations for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance) at EDC, Theresa develops and maintains systems for strategic partner engagement and leads key initiatives that promote hope, share evidence, and change the conversation about suicide and suicide prevention. She represents the Action Alliance at the national convenings of organizations such as the American Association of Suicidology, The Jed Foundation, and Mental Health Coalition. Recently, she contributed to the CDC’s Suicide Prevention Communication Campaign Playbook.

Before joining EDC, Theresa was assistant director of marketing and communications for Student Affairs at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Prior to that, she led communications and marketing at SEEDS – Access Changes Everything, an educational nonprofit where she headed up digital marketing—social media, e-newsletters, publication development (e.g., the annual report)—and contributed to the success of high-priority activities, fundraising events, and development projects.

Theresa began her career as a senior account executive at Gregory FCA, a national public relations firm, where she managed media relations for clients in the life sciences, technology, venture capital, human resources, staffing, and aviation.

Theresa holds a BA in Communications from Villanova University.
