Michelle Lanier, EDC training and technical assistance (TTA) associate, has 15 years of experience in home visiting program TTA, performance monitoring, and quality assurance. She brings extensive expertise in family engagement, intimate partner violence, and strengths-based practices, including motivational interviewing. A certified Master Addiction Counselor, she has provided individual, family, and group therapy for children and adults impacted by substance misuse for over 20 years. She specializes in recovery-oriented practice, an approach emphasizing person-centered care and collaboration to help people build and maintain meaningful recovery.

For the Safeguard Veterans initiative, Michelle provides expert clinical guidance, TTA, and implementation support focused on mental health, substance use disorders, suicide prevention and co-occurring disorders. As a key member of EDC’s Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Technical Assistance Resource Center team, she builds awardees’ capacity to deliver high-quality home visiting services.

Before joining EDC, as Georgia’s MIECHV TTA team director, Michelle directed a team of TTA providers and oversaw all data, performance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

Michelle holds an MS in Public Health-Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of South Florida’s College of Public Health and a BA in Anthropology from New College of Florida.  She is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.
