Wendy Rivenburgh, an expert in project-based learning, civics education, and media literacy, designs programs that prepare youth for robust engagement in civic life. She specializes in curriculum and instructional design for preK-12 education and out-of-school time, engaging youth and educators as co-designers.

Highly experienced in strategic communications, Rivenburgh manages outreach and resource development for state and federal training and technical assistance projects and foundation-funded initiatives. She led development of an innovative civics curriculum, Supporting Readiness through Vital Civic Empowerment, which blends civic inquiry, media literacy education, and public service career exploration. For six years, she served as lead writer, editor, and curriculum developer for Adobe Youth Voices, the Adobe Foundation’s flagship youth media initiative. She has trained social studies teachers in media literacy and civics for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and she currently serves on the steering committee of the Massachusetts Civic Learning Coalition.

Previously, Rivenburgh taught English literature at the high school and college levels. She holds an MA in English from Boston College and a BA in English from Middlebury College.
