Human-Centered AI Interactions

It’s vital for students to apply critical  thinking skills as they use artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Yet there are few frameworks to help teachers ensure students do not view AI-responses as “the final word.” In this article, the authors describe a five-step AI interaction framework (Initiate, Analyze, Verify, Elevate, Socialize) that EDC has developed to help teachers build students’ AI fluency and support students in questioning assumptions, testing claims against requirements, and deciding what to keep, revise, or discard as they work with AI.
