Ben Spooner, a skilled training and technical assistance (TA) provider, has over a decade of experience in substance misuse prevention. He has expertise in communications planning, sustainability planning, strategic planning, event organizing, and developing and facilitating distance-learning events.

As a trainer, Spooner builds the capacity of prevention professionals on topics such as SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) and cultural and linguistic responsiveness. He is experienced in project management and has coordinated the development of online tools and resources to assist client grantees in achieving their goals.

Currently, Spooner serves as the associate project director and TA provider for the Center for Strategic Prevention Support, for which he has been a TA provider since its inception in 2012. He has a passion for incorporating cultural and linguistic responsiveness into his work and helping the communities he works with do the same.

Spooner holds a BS in Sports Marketing from the University of Connecticut and a PMD Pro Certification from APMG International. He is a Certified Prevention Specialist with the Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification.
