Ben Spooner is an EDC project director and prevention expert. An experienced project manager and training and technical assistance (TA) provider, he brings extensive expertise in substance misuse prevention, strategic communications planning, sustainability planning, strategic planning, instructional design, product development, event design and facilitation, and effective virtual events.

Spooner is the associate project director of the Massachusetts Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling Prevention. Recently, he served as associate project director and a TA provider for the Center for Strategic Prevention Support. He specializes in providing training and developing tools that build the capacity of prevention professionals in key areas such as SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework.

Spooner is the co-developer of a communications toolkit related to substance misuse prevention. He frequently presents on upstream prevention at national and regional convenings.

Spooner holds a BS in Marketing from the University of Connecticut and a PMD Pro Certification from APMG International. He is a Certified Prevention Specialist in Massachusetts.
