Brandt Richardson
Brandt Richardson, EDC senior research associate, is experienced in research study design to guide evaluations of educational interventions. He brings extensive expertise in research management, quantitative data collection and analysis, policy analysis, and program evaluation. His research interests include school improvement, school readiness, and early education—including the economics of early education.
Brandt is a researcher for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC, which fosters collaboration between researchers and policymakers, administrators, and teachers to improve student outcomes. Previously, he contributed to La Fuerza-STEM, the study of a science-infused Spanish-language telenovela and related workshops for families.
As a visiting assistant professor at Saint Olaf College, Brandt has taught courses including the Economics of Education. He publishes his findings in journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Pediatrics, Child and Youth Services Review, and Evaluation Review.
Brandt holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Economics from Saint Olaf College, Minnesota. He has also studied at the London School of Economics.
