Caitlin Flynn, associate project director, is a highly skilled communications professional and international development practitioner specializing in education, youth empowerment, and strategic communications. She has led the design and implementation of a Youth Corps service model in South Sudan, mobilizing youth, fostering peer-to-peer support, and establishing a national network of 500 youth leaders.

As associate director of program communications, Caitlin works closely with the director of program communications to raise visibility of EDC’s international initiatives and research. She provides technical assistance to country offices, supports skill development for international communication specialists, and collaborates on campaigns to enhance the visibility of EDC’s global initiatives. Caitlin also serves as the communications lead for the Children’s Safety Network at EDC (CSN). In this capacity, she leads social media strategy, product development, and outreach initiatives in services of CSN’s mission.

Previously, Caitlin served as a communications specialist for the USAID Global Book Alliance in Action project, which helped governments improve children’s and youth’s access to quality reading materials to enhance literacy outcomes. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin.

Caitlin holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She speaks English and French.
