Ezana Zemo is the program manager for EDC’s Youth Workforce Development projects in Ethiopia as well as the EDC country representative in Ethiopia. In the latter role, he is responsible for forming and maintaining relationships with host government ministries, donor agencies, and local and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).

Zemo has extensive experience working for USAID- and UNHCR-funded programs and in the private nonprofit sector. He is also well-practiced in project start-up, staffing, staff supervision and development, administration, budgeting, planning, and financial and reporting management.

Before he returned to his birthplace of Ethiopia, Zemo started and successfully managed a consultancy firm in Australia, providing services to international NGOs and the private sector. Prior to joining EDC, he worked as a consultant, offering high-level technical expertise to clients, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UNICEF, and FHI 360, in the fields of livelihoods, nonformal and vocational education, and external relations.
