A results-driven professional, Jackie Kiernan brings nearly two decades of experience in international program design and management. Her expertise is grounded in over a decade of living and working in Francophone African countries, focusing on integrated programming in the space between humanitarian and development contexts. As an EDC project director, Kiernan drives complex programs in challenging operational environments, fluently navigating between her technical and management responsibilities.

As a member of the Youth and Workforce Development team, Kiernan has worked on youth and basic education projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, South Sudan, and Senegal. She focuses on contexts characterized by protracted crises and post-conflict, contributing to EDC’s Conflict, Crisis, and Violence team. Her technical areas of expertise include community-driven approaches, youth programming, nonformal education, livelihoods, conflict resolution, gender, and health.

Previously, Kiernan worked for UNICEF as an emergency specialist, as well as for a variety of nongovernmental organizations, including Concern Worldwide, CARE International, and Search for Common Ground.

Kiernan has a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
