Jill Marcus, technical assistance associate, designs professional development (PD) programs, develops program implementation plans, and provides qualitative data collection and analysis for K–12 education stakeholders. She has expertise in teacher PD, continuous improvement, and classroom assessment.

Prior to EDC, Marcus was a public school teacher and school administrator in Massachusetts, as well as a PD training provider. As a researcher at Brandeis University, she managed data collection for a five-year longitudinal study.

Marcus co-authored Creating and Using Performance Assessments: An Online Course for Practitioners and “In Theory It’s a Good Idea:” Understanding Implementation of Proficiency-Based Education in Maine.

Marcus holds an EdM in Elementary Education from Boston University Graduate School of Education and a BA in American Studies from Boston University College of Liberal Arts.
