Jill Marcus is an EDC training and technical assistance associate and expert facilitator of K–12 educational improvement. She brings experience in teacher professional development, continuous improvement, performance assessment, qualitative data collection and analysis, and research communications.
Marcus advances the goals of EDC’s evaluations of Massachusetts Acceleration Academies and the PACE project to promote computer science education. She contributes to continuous improvement projects in Maine and staffs two communities of practice to support educators in Appalachia.
Marcus is a frequent presenter at conferences and virtual learning events. She co-developed the online course for educators Creating and Using Performance Assessments, and she co-authored a report on proficiency-based education. She co-authored the blog post “Card Activity Helps Educators Sort Out Types of Assessment.”
Previously, Marcus was a public school teacher, school administrator, and professional development provider. As a Brandeis University researcher, she managed data collection for a five-year longitudinal study.
Marcus holds an EdM in Elementary Education from Boston University Graduate School of Education and a BA in American Studies from Boston University College of Liberal Arts.
