Joshua Cox is an experienced researcher, evaluator, and project manager. He specializes in using Python to make sense of large datasets to support data-driven decision-making in educational research and evaluation. He also applies descriptive and inferential statistics, predictive modeling, and data visualization to generate insights that inform practice and policy.

Cox currently advances multiple initiatives at EDC, including the Center for Advancing Elementary Science through Assessment, Research, and Technology and the statewide evaluation of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program in Illinois.

Cox presents his findings at national conferences, including those hosted by the American Evaluation Association, the American Educational Research Association, and the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness. He has co-authored a review of instruments, a toolkit on coaching best practices, and a survey guide published by the Institute of Education Sciences. His work has appeared in Education Policy Analysis and AERA Open.

Cox holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, and a BA in Economics from Knox College.
