Julia Loewenthal, an experienced public health professional and trained clinical social worker, is currently working as an EDC project associate for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center. In this role, she focuses primarily on health and behavioral health care systems, adopting public health approaches to suicide prevention. Loewenthal is particularly interested in re-evaluating how various systems can be improved to help people at risk to see living as a viable option.

Previous to EDC, Loewenthal was a suicide prevention specialist at Brandeis University, where she provided clinical support and mental health outreach to students, staff, and faculty. She also has experience with college and university mental health, case management, crisis support and intervention, and social media campaigns.

Loewenthal holds an MSW from Simmons College.
