Katie Godwin
Katie Godwin serves as the head of research for the Education Workforce Initiative (EWI), at the Learning Generation Initiative (LGI), working in global education research and policy. She oversees EWI’s research agenda and activities and supports in-country collaborations to develop education workforce reform. She led the development of EWI’s flagship report Transforming the Education Workforce, and her recent research includes work on teacher preferences, inclusion for the teaching workforce, equitable teacher allocation, the role of technology in teacher deployment, leveraging the middle tier, and learning teams for the education workforce.
Previously, Katie worked in Nashville, Tennessee, leading immigrant and refugee education services with nongovernmental organizations.
Katie graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Russian. She also holds a Master of Education Degree in International Education Policy and Research from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and participated in Columbia Law School’s Center for Public Research and Leadership graduate program.
