
Marcia Bueno
Marcia Bueno is a researcher focusing on how media and digital resources support education, intergenerational learning, and informal STEM learning. Her primary interests involve intergenerational learning, family engagement, informal STEM learning, and STEM career pathways. She specializes in engaging program participants in informing program design and improvement to ensure products and services are effective. She brings many years of experience with community-based STEM learning.
Currently, Bueno is advancing the goals of several STEM- and media-focused EDC projects including Ready To Learn and Cyberchase Mobile Adventures in STEM. Recently, she contributed to the Integrating Science with Mathematics and Engineering initiative. She is the co-author of the blog post, “Co-designing Playful Preschool STEM Activities for Everyday Life.”
Prior to joining EDC, Bueno directed the community engagement initiative NYSCI Neighbors at the New York Hall of Science.
Bueno holds a BS in Computer Science from New York University-Tandon School of Engineering.
