Mayra Monterroso, an EDC training and technical assistance (TTA) associate, brings extensive expertise in early childhood education and family literacy. Drawing on nine years of experience, she specializes in program assessment, program improvement, and professional development. She is author-reliable on multiple environment rating scales, including the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale, and Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale.

Through EDC’s Center for Early Learning Professionals, Monterroso provides high-quality, bilingual TTA that supports Rhode Island early childhood professionals in strengthening programs and improving outcomes for children and families.

Previously, as the senior coordinator of family literacy at Rhode Island PBS, Monterroso was responsible for developing and delivering research-based early childhood/Ready To Learn and adult basic/GED education resources. She also served as a bilingual program assessment specialist with the Rhode Island Association for the Education of Young Children.

Monterroso holds a BA in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in childhood settings and a minor in psychology, from the University of Rhode Island. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
