Nora van Wassenaer, EDC research associate, is an experienced educational researcher with strong statistical analysis, project management, and program evaluation skills. With a background in cognitive psychology, she brings expertise in statistical analysis (SPSS, Stata), data management, mixed-methods research, survey design and research, focus groups, literature reviews, and data visualization.

Van Wassenaer’s work focuses on early learning and cognition, STEM education, and educational technology to support student outcomes. She contributes to EDC’s Data Paths initiative and plays a key role in EDC’s evaluation of Illinois’s 21st Century Community Learning Center program. Previously, she was a researcher for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC, and EDC’s Young Mathematicians program.

Before joining EDC, van Wassenaer worked with an educational robotics start-up in the Netherlands, where she led research on a robotics curriculum for middle school students.

Van Wassenaer holds an MS in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Amsterdam and is fluent in Dutch and English.
