Oxcence Nyalundja Esther

Oxcence Nyalundja Esther is the country coordinator for the Sustainable Financing Initiative for School Health and Nutrition at the Learning Generation Initiative, supporting governments in Africa and Southeast Asia to develop sustainable financing strategies for school meals and school health programs. In this role, she works closely with World Food Programme country offices, the School Meals Coalition, government partners, and technical experts to advance national efforts toward long-term financing for school meal systems.

She also serves as an International Technical Advisor at EDC, contributing technical expertise on program design, partnerships, and policy engagement.

Prior to joining LGI, Oxcence spent seven years managing humanitarian and development programs with EDC funded by USAID, the MasterCard Foundation, and the World Bank in fragile and crisis contexts. Her work included engaging with government and community stakeholders, facilitating youth-led labor market assessments, strengthening the capacity of schools and local organizations, and designing gender equity and social inclusion initiatives.

She has experience supporting youth socio-professional integration, livelihood development, entrepreneurship, private-sector engagement, and green economy initiatives. Her work has focused on highly vulnerable populations, including adolescent girls and women, refugees and displaced communities, and vulnerable host populations.

Oxcence holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies.
