Sarah Nogueira Sanca
Sarah Nogueira Sanca is an EDC Managing Program Director, nonprofit leader, and expert in international development and youth development. She specializes in project leadership and management, business development, operational efficiencies, strategic planning, compliance, fiscal management, and employee experience. She brings deep expertise in improving teacher training, advancing youth livelihoods and leadership, and strengthening alternative and accelerated education.
Sarah provides project directors with strategic consultation that supports them in meeting key goals and maintaining sound fiscal health. As a member of the Program Leadership Team, she co-develops key new organizational systems and supports. Previously, as a portfolio leader and project director, she oversaw and supported youth, education, and health programs in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Liberia, the Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, and Uganda.
Earlier in her career, Sarah worked at the AmeriCorps program City Year as a project director, fundraiser, and director of international operations, supporting its expansion to Johannesburg and London. She began her career teaching in Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau.
Sarah has a BA in English and Theology from Boston College and is fluent in Cape Verdean/Guinean Portuguese Creole.
