Shanna Russ, research communications expert and an experienced project director, specializes in public information outreach. Her areas of expertise include information design, user experience, user-centered design, data visualization, website management, website accessibility for people with disabilities, and product development and promotion.
Russ leads the dissemination strategy for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC and the Center for Advancing Elementary Science through Assessment, Research, and Technology at EDC. In this capacity, she designs and oversees the implementation of dissemination plans that use multiple channels to promote the use of research findings. She has extensive expertise in the design and management of online and in-person convenings, multimedia production (e.g., videos, infographics), and material development (e.g., reports, briefs, newsletters).
Russ holds an MS in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Maryland and a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. She received her PMD Pro Certification as a project manager from APMG International.
