Shanna Russ, research communications expert and experienced project director, leads the dissemination strategy for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC and other initiatives. She specializes in public information outreach, website management, accessibility, user experience, user-centered design, information design, data visualization, and product development and promotion.

Russ designs and oversees the implementation of dissemination plans that use multiple channels to promote the use of research findings. She has extensive expertise in the design and management of online and in-person convenings, multimedia production (e.g., videos, infographics), and material development (e.g., reports, briefs, newsletters).

Russ is a co-chair of EDC’s Conversations and Resources on Disabilities Employee Resource Group and a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. As a disability advocate, she designs user-centered resources and trainings that raise awareness of disability needs in the workplace and accessibility best practices.

Russ holds an MS in Human-Centered Computing from the University of Maryland and a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. She received her PMD Pro Certification as a project manager from APMG International.
