Sokoni Davis
Sokoni Davis is a national expert in Pre-K–12 education, adult learning theory, and organizational transformation who builds capacity to foster career readiness and lifelong success for all learners. She brings extensive experience as a program leader, senior consultant, executive coach, and school turnaround advisor, with a strong foundation in literacy, leadership development, and systems change. Known for integrating equity, evidence-based practices, and cross-sector collaboration, she partners with organizations to drive sustainable, systemwide improvements.
Sokoni leads large-scale initiatives across education and public health systems, including national work with SAMHSA to support the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. She directs statewide training and capacity-building efforts focused on problem gambling prevention that advance culturally responsive, community-based interventions. She has also led leadership development initiatives with the Wallace Foundation to strengthen principal preparation pipelines.
As a senior training and technical assistance specialist for the REL Northeast & Islands at EDC, Sokoni guided teams that provided continuous improvement training, coaching, and technical support to schools, districts, and state education agencies. Before joining EDC, she was a senior transformation, school improvement, and literacy consultant supporting initiatives at federal and state education departments, districts, and schools. She is a certified teacher in English Grades 6–12 and served as department chair in the Chicago Public Schools for over 12 years.
Sokoni holds an EdD in Education and Ethical Leadership with a research concentration on Career and Technical Education from Olivet Nazarene University.
