
Sophia Mansori

Sophia Mansori, EDC research scientist, is an expert in program evaluation who examines the components of successful educational innovations. She has extensive experience in qualitative and mixed-methods research, formative and summative evaluation, survey design and data collection, evaluation capacity building, and the effective management of multisite data collection efforts and evaluation teams.
Mansori leads and co-leads evaluations that advance knowledge of strategies to improve STEM education, out-of-school time learning, youth development, organizational development, and student-centered learning. Partnering with funders and programs, she designs and conducts evaluations that support continuous improvement, accountability, and dissemination of results.
Mansori is leading evaluations of Illinois’s 21st Century Community Learning Center program, Amgen Biotech Experience, and the FIRST LEGO League grant program. Previously, she led a LEGO Foundation-funded study on teacher professional development; authored multiple evaluations for the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine; and was the project director for EDC’s evaluation of Adobe Youth Voices.
Mansori holds an MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Tufts University. She is a member of the American Evaluation Association.
