Tracy Desovich is a Senior Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Specialist, substance misuse prevention leader, public health expert, and qualitative researcher. For over 36 years, she has led, co-led, and advanced upstream prevention initiatives that improve health and behavioral health. She has designed and delivered high-quality, high-impact TTA for over 25 years. She specializes in facilitating the development and implementation of community-driven, evidence-informed strategic plans that proactively prevent substance misuse and significantly reduce fatal and non-fatal overdose.

As a Senior TTA Specialist for the Northeast and Caribbean Prevention Technology Transfer Center, Tracy designs and delivers substance misuse prevention TTA that builds the capacity of professionals to effectively apply substance use prevention research in their daily work. For the Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center at EDC, she has provided impactful TTA to support the successful implementation of SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework and led a 3-part Prevention Workforce Community Practice.

Through a grant from Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation for the Prevention Matters initiative, Tracy provided extensive TA to support Marion County, Indiana schools in identifying, implementing, and sustaining proven substance misuse prevention programs. Previously, she directed two Massachusetts regional substance misuse prevention TTA centers that served greater Boston and 69 Southeastern Massachusetts towns and cities.

Tracy holds an MPH with a Research Concentration from The University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington and a BA in Health Counseling from The University of Connecticut, Storrs.
