Viwe Mtshontshi
Viwe Mtshontshi is the EDC chief of party of a USAID-funded program in South Africa focused on cross-sectoral collaboration of the education, health, and social development sectors.
Prior to joining EDC, Mtshontshi worked at FHI 360, where she served as the director of Public Private Partnerships as well as the director of the Kellogg Southern Africa Leadership Programme. She was also the AED Southern Africa regional director.
Mtshontshi began her career in South Africa as a high school math, an English as a second language teacher, and a career guidance teacher. She joined teacher-led initiatives that provided relevant professional development needs to teachers in transforming South Africa. She also co-founded the Institute for Partnership between Education and Business (IPEB), where she facilitated collaborations between the corporate and education sectors.
Mtshontshi holds an MA in Education from George Washington University, a BEd from the University of Witwatersrand, and a BA from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa.
