Join EDC at NatCon2025

EDC experts in suicide prevention and mental health will share insights and new resources at NatCon2025, the nation’s leading behavioral health conference, from May 5 to 7 in Philadelphia. Visit EDC at Booth #628 to learn about our Zero Suicide Institute trainings, consultation, and products and join the following sessions to explore our work.
Monday, May 5 (10:15– 11:15 a.m., Room 103A)
Barb Gay and Julie Goldstein Grumet will present “What Makes Zero Suicide Stick? Lessons from Implementation Experiences.” In the United States, 92% of people who make a suicide attempt have seen a health care provider within the previous year. EDC’s Zero Suicide Institute® provides expert consultation and training that helps health care systems adopt and sustain continuous quality improvement practices that transform suicide prevention and treatment. In this session, our experts will highlight innovative ideas that health care systems are implementing to improve suicide care in their systems.
Monday, May 5 (12:30–1:30 p.m., Room 108B)
Julie Goldstein Grumet and Richard Fournier will present “Systemwide School-Based Suicide Prevention: Zero Suicide in Schools.” Suicide is the second leading cause of death among youth ages 10–24. In this session, participants will learn about Multi-Tiered Suicide Prevention (MTSP) for Schools, a whole-school approach to prevent youth suicide that is being supported by EDC for use across the United States (explore our work with Clinton Prairie and Tippecanoe). The session will also discuss the role of community mental health agencies and school staff.
Monday, May 5 (4:30– 5:30 p.m., Room 108B)
Julie Goldstein Grumet will lead a conversation on Parents-to-Parents: After Your Child’s Suicide Attempt, a film that offers parents, health care providers, and mental health counselors information about how to respond to a young person’s suicide attempt. The presentation will also feature Alison Paine, a board member of Parents to Parents, and Laura Leone, a social worker at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Parents-to-Parents: After Your Child’s Suicide Attempt was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2024 Digital Health Association Awards, a competition that recognizes innovative online resources for health professionals and consumers.
