Characteristics Influencing the Development of Research Alliances

This paper describes a descriptive, exploratory study that drew on EDC’s experiences and lessons learned about the formation and development of state education agency research alliances from the perspective of our leadership of the Regional Educational Laboratory-Northeast & Islands. The author uses administrative data from eight research alliances to identify key characteristics of these alliances. The author also shares extensive insights  from members of the alliances to explore whether the challenges and facilitators of research alliance development differ by alliance characteristics.
