Innovation for Education: Final Outcome Evaluation Report

This final report summarizes the evaluation of the impact of EDC’s Early Childhood Caregiver Professional Development and Certification Program in Rwanda. From 2013 to 2015, the program trained and placed unemployed female youth as early childhood development caregivers and promoted school readiness among children attending those centers. The evaluation showed that the EDC training helped caregivers develop a solid knowledge base about early childhood development topics and reaffirmed the importance of holistic, play-based methods for early childhood programs.
