Evangeline Ambat, EDC Project Director, has over 20 years of experience working internationally and in the U.S. as a technical assistance (TA) and training provider; community building specialist; and project and event manager. She has extensive expertise in community engagement, as well as in building and strengthening formal and informal public education systems and processes.

In Evangeline’s oversight of TA teams for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC, she guides work to strengthen educational systems, translate research and policy into practice, and support state education agencies in making evidence based decisions. She is a co-author of “Findings from Vermont Agency of Education Survey of Career Advising Practices among School Counselors,” “The Vermont Literacy Playbook,” and “Improving Data Dashboards: A Feedback Process to Engage Users in Rhode Island.”

As a member of EDC’s NASA GLOBE Implementation Office team, Evangeline leads the Regional Hub for Asia and Pacific Region. For EDC’s Amgen Biotech Experience Program Office, she leads the International Ambassadors Community of Practice.

Evangeline is a co-director and a board member for Calcutta Kids Trust. Prior to joining EDC, she led youth and state projects at the Child in Need Institute and the Akanksha Foundation in India.

Evangeline holds an MEd in Education, Policy, Research, and Administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an MA in Applied Psychology from the Rajabazar Science College of Calcutta University.
