EDC has been awarded the Partnership for National Maternal and Child Health Leadership (Partnership) by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). This initiative will be carried out in close collaboration with the Association of State and Tribal Home Visiting Initiatives (ASTHVI) in support of its mission to strengthen state, territory, and tribal home visiting systems. It will serve state and territory Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) leaders across the 56 states, jurisdictions, and territories.

The award continues EDC’s work to advance innovative and effective approaches to strengthening home visiting programs and the home visiting workforce to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Current initiatives include the Home Visiting Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network and the Institute for Home Visiting Workforce Development and Jackie Walorski Center for Evidence-Based Case Management.

In leading the new Partnership, EDC will also collaborate with other MCHB-funded capacity-building partners, including the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs, CityMatCH, and MPHI, to promote leadership development and skill building, foster peer support, disseminate evidence-based practices, and strengthen cross-system coordination. Together, these efforts will build more effective and integrated systems of care for families.

“We are honored to be selected by HRSA to launch this initiative to support the home visiting leaders who play such vital roles in implementing home visiting programs nationwide,” says EDC’s Roselia Ramirez, the project director of the Partnership. “The new Partnership is a key investment in building their capacity to strengthen federal Maternal and Child Health and Early Childhood systems and improve outcomes for young children and their families.”
