20,000 Educators Register for Success at the Core Web Resources

WALTHAM, MA | Thousands of educators in the United States and around the world are tapping into online teaching resources created by EDC’s Success at the Core. To date, more than 20,000 Web users have registered for materials to help boost student math, science, and English language arts achievement.

Launched in 2010, Success at the Core has helped teachers increase student engagement and motivation in classrooms and provided greater capacity for collaboration among educators. Its leadership modules offer in-depth content on topics such as using data, introducing new programs, and aligning curriculum. Teacher development modules explore instruction, assessment, and student supports.

In 2014, Success at the Core expanded access to its library of award-winning videos and online resources by partnering with the Teaching Channel. This free Web-based video library now includes more than 900 videos and reaches a growing community of over 500,000 teachers.

“We are pleased and excited about the growth of Success at the Core and its appeal to teachers in their continuous efforts to improve instruction,” said EDC’s Barbara Miller. “This milestone shows us that this online community is alive and growing and interested in using higher-quality video resources.”

EDC created Success at the Core in partnership with Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul G. Allen and his film company, Vulcan Productions. More than 47 documentary-quality videos have been produced and posted, showcasing teachers and school leaders engaged in exceptional classroom instruction and leadership team practices.

Success at the Core has earned numerous awards, including a Best Educational Software (BESSIE) Award for Best Professional Development Website, the CINE Golden Eagle Award, the Houston Worldfest Gold Remi Award, and the Silver Telly Award.
