EDC is honored to help convene this year’s Global Education Forum, taking place Wednesday, September 20, at the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City.
Moderated by the Right Honorable Gordon Brown, United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, the bi-annual event brings together education leaders and innovators from donor countries and multilateral institutions around the world, and it will continue to provide a platform where groundbreaking ideas and innovative solutions converge.
Launched in 2019 by the Education Commission, which joined EDC earlier this year, the high-level convening aims to drive progress on Sustainable Development Goal 4. EDC will continue the work of the Global Education Forum as part of the broader mission of the Commission to improve international collaboration and to advocate for increased and more effective investment in global education.
“This is a critical moment to invest in the education and nutrition of every child. To achieve the SDGs by 2030, this investment cannot wait."
–EDC President and CEO Liesbet Steer
The discussion at this year’s Forum will focus on two tracks:
1. Securing essential funding for education
2. Ensuring that every child has access to nourishing school meals
