EDC Talks: Adapting to New Realities

The pandemic is revealing opportunities for growth, change, and innovation in education, says Clare Waterman Irwin.

Clare Waterman Irwin, a research scientist with EDC’s REL Northeast and Islands, learned that flexibility was key to education research during the pandemic. In this video, she describes adapting research protocols to help a preschool partner in Connecticut figure out what parents and staff needed when schools closed. The experience left her hopeful that educators, administrators, and researchers will apply lessons they have learned from the past 18 months to improve education for everyone today.
