J. Eric Wright has lived in Africa for more than 25 years and has extensive experience as a banker, investor, entrepreneur, and advisor in over 30 African countries.
He is the co-founder of Vibranium Capital Group, a private equity firm investing in Africa and the United States. Previously, Eric founded Africa Venture Partners, a pan-African investment based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was one of the founding executives of Citigroup South Africa, as well as the head of private equity and venture capital investing.
Eric co-founded Accelon, a Nigeria-based satellite broadband operator (which was sold to Internet Solutions/Dimension Data); TowerShare, a Dubai-based wireless tower company operating in the Middle East and South Asia; and Gold Coast Securities, an investment bank in Accra, Ghana. He founded the Africa MBA Indaba and the STEM Career Expo.
Eric has served on the investment committee of the National Empowerment Fund and also as a special advisor to the president of the U.S. government-sponsored Southern Africa Enterprise Development Fund.
Eric has a BS in Finance from the University of Southern California and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
