Clara McCurdy-Kirlis, a multilingual communications and project management professional, has over 15 years of experience in project development, implementation, and management. She plays lead roles in health and education instructional design for adult learners, e-learning design and delivery, higher education curriculum development, and interdisciplinary project coordination. For over 10 years, she has built the capacity of substance misuse prevention practitioners to implement SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework process.
McCurdy-Kirlis designs virtual and face-to-face trainings, tools, and informational resources in English and Spanish for two initiatives: Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center and Northeast and Caribbean Prevention Technology Transfer Center.
McCurdy-Kirlis has led communities of practice for multiple initiatives that facilitate dialogue and connectivity, including EDC’s STEM Learning and Research Center. She has co-authored publications on the future of work, including K–8 STEM Career Competencies and Developing the Next Generation of Talent.
McCurdy-Kirlis holds an MS in International Development from Universitat Jaume I, Castellón, Spain, and a BA in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of California, Irvine. She is fluent in Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, and English.
