Pritay Washington, a highly experienced trainer and manager, supports early childhood and out-of-school time programs in improving the quality of their services for children, youth, and families to promote school readiness and success. She has extensive expertise in designing effective professional learning and resources, providing outcomes-focused technical assistance and coaching, fostering effective virtual and in-person learning experiences, and guiding the use of reflective practice and Brazelton’s Touchpoints model.

Washington is a training and technical assistance specialist for the National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment led by EDC. A published author, she has blogged about the importance of dance in African American culture and strategies to address mental health in the Black community.

Prior to joining EDC, Washington held management roles in Head Start and Early Head Start programs and served as a consultant specializing in early childhood quality improvement. She is a member of the National Black Child Development Institute.

Washington holds a BA in Human Services from National Louis University and a graduate certificate in Public Management from Indiana University Northwest.
