Andresse St. Rose, director of educational research and evaluation, is a national expert in education policy and reform, STEM education, and educational equity. She leads a team that advances the use of data—through rigorous applied research, continuous improvement, collective impact, and culturally responsive evaluation—to close opportunity gaps and improve educational systems and out-of-school learning environments.
St. Rose is committed to conducting research and evaluation that directly addresses educators’ problems of practice and produces credible and actionable findings that benefit students. Her work focuses on best practices to propel systemic K–12 education reform to improve outcomes for historically underrepresented populations, ensure gender-equitable STEM, and broaden participation in STEM for students of color.
Prior to joining EDC, St. Rose served as managing director for the Center for Collaborative Education. Her widely cited report Why So Few? Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math received broad media coverage.
St. Rose holds a BS in Biology from Hamilton College, an MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, and an EdD in Education Policy from George Washington University.
